Egbetokun Urges Disu to Elevate Nigeria Police Force

On Thursday, Kayode Egbetokun delivered a farewell address marking the end of his tenure as Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja. He formally handed over leadership to Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the 23rd indigenous IGP, and charged him to lead the force to the next level by deepening professionalism, discipline, and operational efficiency.

Egbetokun expressed pride in the Nigeria Police Force's capacity to safeguard lives and properties and uphold the rule of law. He highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional processes and enhancing operational capacity to effectively respond to evolving security challenges.

Egbetokun acknowledged the support of his family throughout his career and received goodwill messages from former IGP Mike Okiro, who urged Disu to consolidate the achievements of his predecessor. Hashimu Argungu, Chairman of the Police Service Commission, advised Disu to ensure that his actions reflect integrity and commitment to service.
