Nigerian Senate Order Paper: Key Bills & Motions, 9 December 2025
On Tuesday, 9th December 2025, the Nigerian Senate had a packed agenda covering six new bills introduced for first reading, two bills considered at second reading, and a motion calling for urgent federal action on severe land erosion in Edo State. These were a bill to establish the National Health Facilities Regulatory Agency (NHFRA), which would regulate healthcare quality and accredit health providers across Nigeria, and a bill to create a Chartered Institute of Planning of Nigeria.

A motion by Senator Joseph Ikpea raised concerns about serious gully erosion and deforestation across Esan Land in Edo Central, calling on federal agencies including the Ecological Fund Office and NEMA to intervene.
The Senate also considered a committee report addressing three petitions from citizens alleging unlawful dismissal from federal institutions, including the National Council for Arts and Culture and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.
