Nigerian Senate Order Paper: Key Bills and Motions, 10 December 2025

Four bills were introduced for first reading — meaning they were formally presented to the Senate for the first time. These are: an amendment to the Armed Forces Act, sponsored by Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu (Abia North); an amendment to the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission Act, sponsored by Sen. Sani Zangon Daura (Katsina North); an amendment to the Federal Character Commission Act, sponsored by Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South); and a bill to establish a National Assets and Infrastructure Agency, sponsored by Sen. Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West).
At second reading stage, senators were due to debate a bill that would create the Chartered Institute of Planning of Nigeria, sponsored by Sen. Dafinone Omueya Ede (Delta Central).
A notable motion was raised by Sen. Joseph Ikpea (Edo Central), urging the federal government to urgently address dangerous gully erosion and deforestation across Esan Land in Edo State, where communities, roads, and farmlands are under serious threat.
The Senate's Ethics and Public Petitions Committee also presented reports on three separate petitions from workers alleging wrongful termination by federal agencies including the National Council for Arts and Culture, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and the Federal Civil Service Commission.
