Lekki Port Strengthens NDLEA Partnership for Security

Lekki Port is intensifying its partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to enhance cargo movement security and facilitate legitimate trade. This commitment was highlighted during a visit by NDLEA Chairman and CEO Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.) to the port in Lagos, where he met with port management and toured the facilities.

The discussions aimed at expanding cooperation to strengthen intelligence sharing, improve cargo integrity, and curb drug trafficking without disrupting lawful trade. Marwa emphasized the port's strategic importance to Nigeria's economy and the necessity for stronger security collaboration amid rising drug trafficking challenges.

He praised the professionalism of the port's management and security agencies. Managing Director of Lekki Port, Wang Qiang, reiterated that security is a cornerstone of operations, highlighting the port's technology-driven processes and modern infrastructure.

He affirmed the commitment to work closely with the NDLEA and other agencies to ensure the port remains a trusted gateway for international trade.
