NAAPE and NDLEA Collaborate to Combat Drug Trafficking

The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have strengthened their collaboration to combat drug trafficking. This commitment was made during a courtesy visit by NAAPE President Captain Bunmi Gindeh to NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) at the NDLEA headquarters in Abuja.

The discussions emphasized the connection between professional integrity, flight safety, and national security. Gindeh highlighted the role of aviation professionals as the first line of defense in identifying unusual occurrences related to drug trafficking.

NAAPE proposed four key areas for collaboration: organizing joint awareness sessions, establishing confidential reporting channels, developing substance-abuse prevention programs, and enhancing continuous professional education. Gindeh praised Marwa for his leadership in combating drug trafficking, while Marwa acknowledged the importance of aviation workers in preventing drug movement across borders.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing interest in maintaining a regular working relationship.
