Ndume Advocates for US Military Base in Borno State

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South, has advocated for the establishment of a United States military base in Borno State to assist in combating the Boko Haram insurgency. During an interview with Channels Television, Ndume discussed the security challenges facing the northeastern region of Nigeria and suggested that the Mandara Mountains would provide a strategic location for military operations.

He argued that the U.S. presence could enhance surveillance and disrupt insurgent activities, particularly in areas like the Sambisa Forest. Ndume emphasized that the Nigerian military requires additional resources to effectively tackle the security threats in the region.

He expressed a strong appeal for American military support, stating that it would significantly reduce insecurity and improve safety for communities affected by the insurgency.
