Wike Urges EU to Strengthen Investment Ties with Nigeria

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCTA), called on European Union (EU) countries to enhance investment ties and cultural exchange during a meeting on Tuesday with the head of the EU mission. Wike stated that a partnership with the FCTA would yield mutual benefits and foster prosperity in Abuja, Nigeria.

He highlighted the FCTA's commitment to investing in various sectors, including real estate, housing, entertainment, tourism, agriculture, solid minerals, and waste management. Gautier Mignot, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria, attended the meeting and described the EU as Nigeria's primary trade and investment partner.

Wike also outlined the government's priorities, including urban and rural development, infrastructure, security, education, health, social welfare, land administration reform, and revenue generation. He mentioned plans to strengthen security infrastructure by building 12 new fully equipped police headquarters across six area councils.

The meeting aimed to reinforce collaboration between the Nigerian government and EU countries to advance shared values and development goals.
