Wike Waives Land Fees for FCT Traditional Rulers

On Friday, during a ceremony in Abuja, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced the allocation of land titles and the waiver of statutory fees for traditional rulers in the FCT. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive to honor indigenous people and foster peace in the area.

Wike highlighted the significant role traditional rulers play in local governance and community leadership, particularly during elections. He expressed that it is unfair to require traditional rulers to pay large sums for land, hence the decision to waive these fees.

Wike also committed to providing utility vehicles to traditional rulers to aid them in their duties. Furthermore, he discussed ongoing infrastructure projects in satellite towns, including the dualization of the airport-Kuje road and the development of road networks in various areas.

Adamu Yunusa, the chairman of the council, expressed gratitude for the support from the federal government.
