Rivers State Urged to Nurture Seeds of Reconciliation for Lasting Peace

Vice Admiral Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, urged the people to nurture seeds of reconciliation planted during the state's administration over the past six months. The call for reconciliation came during a thanksgiving service in Port Harcourt marking the end of the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu on March 18, 2025.

The emergency rule was imposed following a political feud between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his political godfather, Chief Nyesom Wike. Ibas emphasized the need for sustained peace and unity in the state.

The message was delivered at the Ecumenical Centre, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability in Rivers State.
