Libya Investigates Assassination of Seif al Islam Gaddafi; US to Deploy Military Mission to Nigeria

The Libyan authorities are conducting an investigation into the assassination of Seif al Islam Gaddafi, the son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Seif al Islam was reportedly shot dead in Zintan, a city in northwest Libya.

Forensic teams have been dispatched to the scene to gather evidence as officials work to identify those responsible for the attack. Since the 2011 uprising that led to the downfall of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya has been grappling with instability, with the country divided between a UN-backed government in Tripoli and an eastern administration led by Khalifa Haftar.

Moussa al Kouni, the Vice President of the Presidential Council, has condemned the killing and called for an end to political violence. The United States has agreed to deploy a small, uniquely capable military mission to Nigeria to enhance military collaboration, as confirmed by General Dagvin R.
