Bob-Manuel Udokwu: Life Easier for Women than Men

In a recent interview, veteran actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu shared his perspective on the financial challenges faced by Nigerian male actors, asserting that life is generally easier for women than for men. He addressed the struggles male actors encounter in the movie industry, particularly in comparison to their female counterparts.

Udokwu's comments were partly prompted by inquiries regarding the late actor John Okafor, who faced significant financial difficulties when he fell ill. Udokwu explained that the earnings in the movie industry do not provide substantial financial freedom, which complicates matters for male actors.

He noted that during Okafor's illness, there was a public outcry for funds to cover his hospital bills, highlighting the financial realities of the profession. Udokwu emphasized that many people did not understand the true nature of the challenges faced by actors, including the lack of financial security, and mentioned that he did not even know Okafor was married.
