Yakubu Gowon Stadium to Undergo Rehabilitation in Port Harcourt

The Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt is set for rehabilitation by Monimichelle Sports Construction Limited, following the decision of the Rivers State Government. The stadium, formerly known as Liberation Stadium, has been in a deplorable state, hindering sports events.

The indigenous firm will handle the renovation project, aiming to restore the stadium to its former glory. The outgoing Sole Administrator of Rivers State, AVM Ibok Ete Ibas (rtd), expressed the government's commitment to refurbishing the facility for the benefit of the people.

The project is expected to enhance sports activities in the region and provide a modern sporting venue for various events.
