Adebayo Challenges Baba-Ahmed's Critique of Opposition

Adewole Adebayo, the Social Democratic Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, responded to Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s critique of opposition figures vying to succeed President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Baba-Ahmed, who served as the Labour Party’s vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 election, claimed that none of the opposition candidates, including Peter Obi, had the capability to enhance Nigeria's situation.

During a recent appearance on the Mic On Podcast, Baba-Ahmed urged Tinubu to prepare for a transition of power, suggesting that opposition politicians are entrenched in the established political framework. In contrast, Adebayo, speaking on Arise News’ News Night, dismissed Baba-Ahmed's broad assessment, stating that he should confine his judgments to politicians he has personally engaged with.

Adebayo emphasized that Baba-Ahmed's views might stem from his experiences with politicians like Obi and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, asserting that he should not include Adebayo in his evaluations.
