Lind and Hashimoto Aim for Historic WTT Lagos Titles

At the WTT Contender Lagos, Ander Lind from Denmark and Honoka Hashimoto from Japan are poised to make history by becoming the first players to retain their singles titles. Lind, who lifted the men's singles crown in 2025, defeated Croatia's Tomislav Pucar to secure his place in the final.

This marks Lind's third appearance at the tournament, where he aims to become the first male player to claim consecutive singles titles. Meanwhile, Oh Junsung from Korea Republic made a significant impact in his debut, defeating India's Manush Shah in the semi-finals.

Hashimoto, who won the women's singles title last year by dethroning India's Sreeja Akula, seeks to achieve back-to-back triumphs. In her semi-final, Hashimoto convincingly defeated Korea Republic's Cheonhui Joo 3-0.

The final will see Hashimoto face compatriot Satsuki Odo, the tournament's top seed, who secured her spot by defeating Hitomi Sato 3-1.
