Lagos State Extends Deadline for Annual Tax Returns by One Week

The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has extended the deadline for filing annual tax returns by one week, moving it from January 31 to February 7. This extension, announced by the Executive Chairman of LIRS, Dr.

Ayodele Subair, aims to facilitate compliance among employers and ensure accurate submissions ahead of stricter enforcement of tax laws in Lagos State. Dr.

Subair emphasized the importance of timely and accurate filing to avoid errors that could lead to penalties. Employers are advised to verify tax identification numbers (TINs) and seek guidance from LIRS offices or official communication channels for support.
