Lizzy Asomugha Ends Rotary Club Tenure with Peace Event

Lizzy Ulunma Asomugha's tenure as President of the Rotary Club Abuja Aso Golf concluded with a 'Night of Peace' celebration on June 24, 2026, in Abuja. The event was organized in collaboration with Citizen Advocates for Peace and featured distinguished guests, including diplomats from Uganda, the UK, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Canada, and Botswana.

Sir Mike Okiro chaired the event, which was attended by notable figures such as Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi and Amb Philip Odida. Asomugha emphasized the importance of patience, humility, and emotional intelligence in leadership, advising her successor, Mark Matesun, to continue the tradition of selfless service.

She highlighted the Rotary Club's role in fostering global friendships and humanitarian service, stressing that peace is foundational for national development. Asomugha will assume the role of Assistant Governor for Rotary on July 1, while Matesun pledged to build upon her achievements and strengthen member engagement.
