Lizzie Asomugha Concludes Rotary Presidency, Advocates Peace

Lizzie Asomugha officially concluded her two-year tenure as President of the Rotary Club Abuja during a valedictory event themed "Night of Peace." Asomugha, who became the club's fourth president, urged fellow Rotarians to commit to peace, humanitarian service, and selfless leadership. She will transition to the role of Rotary Assistant Governor on July 1, 2024.

Reflecting on her leadership, Asomugha expressed a desire to be remembered for her dedication to serving humanity, emphasizing that Rotary leadership requires humility, patience, and sacrifice. She advised her successor to lead with humility and focus on making a meaningful impact rather than pursuing titles.

Asomugha, also a former lady captain of the IBB Golf Country Club, described Rotary as a global platform for fostering friendship and humanitarian service, which are essential for sustainable peace and development. She acknowledged the support of the Nigeria Police Force in peace initiatives during the recent Ekiti governorship election and received a certificate of appreciation for her leadership impact.
