Lokoja University Achieves TETFund Support and Accreditation

Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibiley, Vice Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, has marked his first 100 days in office by securing significant interventions from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for eight academic programs. Key achievements include a ₦3 billion intervention aimed at enhancing infrastructure and academic development, with ₦335 million allocated for urgent infrastructural needs.

The university also received ₦700 million and ₦400 million for upgrading laboratories and classrooms. Additionally, a ₦300 million zonal intervention from TETFund is set to strengthen critical infrastructure.

The Vice Chancellor announced the successful passage of the basic medical examination by the first cohort of medical students, who will be the first generation of doctors trained entirely in Kogi State. To further strengthen the university's framework, several strategic committees have been established, and the Vice Chancellor has committed to enhancing safety on campus through engagement with external stakeholders.
