Nine Killed in Plateau Bus Attack at Dungus Junction

On Sunday, a tragic attack occurred at Dungus Junction, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals, including the bus driver, Ibrahim Bala. The bus was en route to Jos when it was ambushed shortly after the driver stopped to drop off five passengers.

Garba, the bus conductor, recounted that as the driver exited to collect fare, gunmen opened fire on both the disembarked passengers and those still in the vehicle. Garba survived by bending down during the attack, while the assailants stole his money and phone.

Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, confirmed the incident and noted that among the deceased was a member of Operation Rainbow. He expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and called for unity among Christians and Muslims against such violence.

Bala Isah, the driver’s father, shared his grief, revealing that Ibrahim had just returned to work after initially closing for the day. The bodies of the victims have been taken to the hospital for burial preparations.
