Lookman Returns to Atletico Madrid Pre-Season Training

Ademola Lookman returned to pre-season training with Atletico Madrid on August 1, 2023, as the team prepares for the upcoming La Liga season. Lookman, who is also a contender for the 2024 African Player of the Year, is looking to enhance his contributions after scoring nine goals and providing four assists in 24 appearances last season.

Atletico Madrid, under the management of Diego Simeone, will kick off their 2026/27 La Liga campaign against newly promoted Malaga on August 16, 2023. The team is also set to participate in pre-season friendlies against Manchester United and Manchester City.

Lookman’s return comes after a break following Nigeria's bronze finish at the AFCON 2024 in Morocco. The team finished fourth in La Liga last season and will be looking to improve their performance in the UEFA Champions League.
