LOTUS Bank and Heckerbella Launch Smart ID Project at UNILAG

LOTUS Bank, a non-interest lender, partnered with Heckerbella to launch a smart ID project at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). The launch ceremony took place on a Friday and featured the university's leadership, faculty members, students, and senior executives from both organizations.

The smart ID card is designed as a dual-function solution, serving as an official identification credential and a secure debit card. This innovation aims to enable seamless identification verification, efficient access control, and safe financial transactions within and beyond the campus environment.

The project is expected to streamline administrative processes, improve operational efficiency across faculties and departments, and deepen financial literacy among students. Vice Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola presented the smart ID card to students and staff, marking a significant milestone in UNILAG's digital transformation journey.

Dr. Isiaka Ajani Lawal, Managing Director of LOTUS Bank, emphasized the initiative's alignment with the bank's commitment to advancing financial inclusion.

Ms. Yemi Keri from Heckerbella highlighted the importance of secure identification infrastructure in modern institutions.
