Labour Party Zones Presidential Ticket to South, Seeks Unity

The Labour Party, under the leadership of interim national chairman Senator Nenadi Usman, has announced the extension of its presidential ticket zoning to the South. This decision is part of an effort to achieve peace within the party amidst ongoing internal crises.

Senator Usman has invited aggrieved members, including Julius Abure, to engage in dialogue to resolve these issues. She emphasized the importance of unity, stating that even during national crises, discussions are crucial to prevent further damage.

The party plans to hold its state congress on March 23rd, which has been postponed to April 28th in Umuahia, Abia State. Usman highlighted that peace is essential for the nation to decide on its presidential leadership, advocating for equal opportunities and social justice within the party.

She also mentioned the need to avoid divisions between the North and South and to ensure that all Nigerians have a fair chance to lead the country.
