Labour Party Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to South

The Labour Party (LP), under the leadership of interim national chairman Sen. Nenadi Usman, has officially zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 elections to the southern part of Nigeria.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, Usman stated that the party will not field any presidential aspirants from the northern region. She highlighted the importance of internal democracy, asserting that the candidate emerging from the primaries will be determined by the voters.

Usman also discussed the upcoming party congress scheduled to start on Thursday, emphasizing the need for timely registration to avoid disenfranchisement. She expressed confidence in the recent court ruling that dismissed legal challenges against the party's leadership, deeming them without merit.

Furthermore, Usman revealed that a formal petition has been submitted to the Nigeria Police Force regarding recent vandalism of party offices and called for the public to utilize the party's digital registration platform to enhance membership.
