Labour Party Names Chairs for Electoral Subcommittees

The Labour Party (LP) has officially named the chairs of its electoral subcommittees as part of its preparations for the national convention set for April 28, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State. The announcement was made on Tuesday, with a statement issued by Ken Asogwa, the interim national chairman.

The subcommittees are tasked with overseeing the congresses scheduled for April 23 (ward congress), April 24 (local government congress), and April 25 (state congress). The appointed chairs include experienced party members such as Iheanacho Obioma for Abia, Franci Kim for Adamawa, and Chief Toni Asuoha for Anambra, among others from various states.

Nenadi Usman, the national chairman of the party, emphasized the importance of conducting the congresses with fairness, integrity, and transparency, reflecting the party's core values of equal opportunity and social justice.
