Labour Party and NLC Plan for 2027 Election Strategy

The Labour Party (LP) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) convened a summit in Abuja to strategize for the 2027 general elections, emphasizing the need for grassroots mobilization and effective membership registration. LP National Chairman Nenadi Usman highlighted lessons learned from the 2023 presidential elections, where the party faced legal challenges after Peter Obi's candidacy.

The summit aimed to build a robust structure to ensure the party's success, with a focus on registering members at the grassroots level and deploying poll unit agents to safeguard votes. Usman stressed the importance of having a reliable membership database and the necessity of collecting official election results (form EC8A) at every polling unit to prevent disputes.

She urged state chairmen and union leaders to collaborate on strategies for mass membership registration, asserting that no political structure can succeed without a solid foundation. The summit concluded with a call for unity among party members to ensure effective participation in future elections.
