NNPP and LP caution Nigerian government and governors over FAAC windfall mismanagement

The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) and Labour Party (LP) have warned the Nigerian government and state governors about the potential mismanagement of the substantial funds allocated through the Federation Account Allocation Committee. The allocation of over N1.9 trillion among federal, state, and local governments was criticized for not translating into improved governance and better living conditions for Nigerians.

Ladipo Johnson of NNPP expressed concerns about the poor spending priorities of state governments despite increased allocations. Abayomi Arabambi of LP accused governors of undermining democracy, particularly at the local government level, by disobeying court judgments on local government autonomy.

The actions were seen as detrimental to grassroots development. The mention of Governor Bola Tinubu in the context of democracy was highlighted as a concern.
