Labour Party Sets ₦50m Fee for Presidential Nomination

The Labour Party has announced that the fee for the presidential nomination form will be ₦50 million, as part of its preparations for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general polls. The announcement was made by Ken Asogwa, the party's national secretary, who stated that the nomination form sales will begin on May 6 and conclude on May 16, 2026.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti will receive the nomination form free of charge in recognition of his contributions to the party's image. The breakdown of fees for other positions includes ₦3 million for House Assembly aspirants, ₦5 million for House Representatives, ₦10 million for Senate, ₦25 million for governorship, and ₦10 million for the presidential race.

The party has also approved concessions for women, youth, and persons with disabilities, allowing them to pay reduced fees. Screening for House Assembly and governorship aspirants is scheduled for May 20, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 22, with results published on May 23.
