Labour Party Sets ₦50m Fee for Presidential Forms

The Labour Party (LP) has announced that the cost for presidential nomination forms will be ₦50 million. A timetable for the 2026 elections has been released, indicating that the sale of nomination forms will commence on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, and conclude on Monday, May 16, 2026.

The submission of completed forms will take place from May 17 to May 18, 2026. Screening for candidates for the House of Assembly and governorship positions is scheduled for May 20, while the national assembly presidential aspirants will be screened on May 22.

Results will be published on May 23, 2026, with appeals entertained on May 24 for state-level positions and May 25 for federal positions. The final list of cleared aspirants will be released on May 26, 2026.

The governorship primaries are set for May 27, and the national assembly presidential primaries will occur on May 29, 2026. The nomination fees for various positions include ₦3 million for House of Representatives, ₦5 million for Senate, ₦10 million for governorship, and ₦25 million for the presidential ticket.

Female aspirants, persons living with disabilities, and youth aged 25-30 will have reduced fees. Governor Alex Otti has announced that the governorship nomination form will be free of charge.
