Labour Party Advocates for Women's Political Inclusion

Nenadi Usman, the Labour Party chairman, reaffirmed the party's commitment to enhancing women's inclusion in Nigerian politics during a meeting with the Nigeria League of Women Voters in Abuja. Usman pledged to support initiatives aimed at empowering women and advocated for a bill seeking special seats for women in parliament.

She commended the Nigeria League of Women Voters for their unwavering dedication to advancing women's political rights and urged them to persist despite challenges. Usman noted the decline in female representation in the current 10th Senate, with only three women compared to eight in the previous assembly, calling it a significant setback.

She encouraged women not to wait for special quotas but to actively engage in politics. Usman also praised Governor Alex Otti for his commitment to women's inclusion in governance, citing his support for women's leadership roles.

She urged the Nigeria League of Women Voters to mobilize support for the Labour Party in upcoming elections to enhance women's representation.
