Labour Party's Registration Exercise to Fix 2023 Errors

Nenadi Usman, the national chairman of the Labour Party, stated that the ongoing registration exercise is crucial for correcting errors that affected the party during the 2023 presidential elections. Speaking at a high-level strategic summit, Usman highlighted the need for the party to register members across the country to ensure effective representation at polling units.

She noted that the party's previous inability to register members properly contributed to challenges in proving electoral results, particularly in the context of electronic transmission issues with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Usman urged various institutions, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), to support the registration efforts.

She emphasized that having accurate membership data is essential for the party's future success and called for a concerted effort to register members at every polling unit. Engin Ikechukwu Emetu, representing Abia State Governor Alex Otti, also stressed the importance of consolidating party strength for sustained political impact.
