Peter Obi Raises Alarm on Nigeria's Insecurity Crisis

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 elections, has expressed alarm over the rising insecurity in Nigeria, particularly following a series of explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State. In his statement, Obi highlighted the lack of a robust national reaction to these tragic incidents, suggesting that insecurity is becoming normalized rather than being decisively confronted.

He extended his condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the explosions and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured. The former governor of Anambra State also referenced recent attacks across several states, including Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, Plateau, Sokoto, and Benue, indicating a widespread issue of insecurity that affects various regions within the country, including the Federal Capital Territory.
