Makinde Appoints Ehilebo as Campaign Spokesperson for 2027

Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication. The announcement was made on Thursday by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, with the appointment taking immediate effect.

Makinde stated that Ehilebo's background as a lawyer and communication strategist would enhance the campaign's effectiveness in conveying the party's plans to Nigerians. This move is part of a broader strategy to build a robust campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential election, where Makinde aims to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He formally declared his candidacy on May 14, 2026, under the PDP/APM alliance. The APM has been intensifying efforts to position Makinde as a key opposition candidate, advocating for political alternatives to address Nigeria's economic and security issues.

The party is also strengthening its organization in Oyo State, having recently inaugurated an apex campaign council.
