PDP Will Produce Nigeria's Next President in 2027 - Makinde

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, stated that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) will be responsible for producing Nigeria's next president in the 2027 elections. This declaration was made during his address to members and stakeholders at the 103rd National Executive Committee meeting of the PDP, which took place on Monday in Abuja.

Makinde's comments come in the context of ongoing leadership disputes within the PDP, particularly following the factional divisions that emerged after the leadership of the party was previously contested. Despite these internal conflicts, including a court judgment involving Nyesom Wike, Makinde asserted that the PDP is prepared to return to power in 2027.

He emphasized that the party would not only produce the next president but also candidates for various legislative and gubernatorial positions, including members of the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and the Senate.
