Makinde Launches APM Campaign Council for 2027 Elections

On Friday, Engr Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), inaugurated the party’s Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council at the Governor’s Office in Ibadan. He urged members to create an inclusive structure that unites APM members and political stakeholders in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Makinde emphasized the importance of integrating defectors and supporters from other political platforms, recalling the coalition that led to his 2019 victory. He stated that the APM is a credible alternative for Nigerians, advocating for a political environment that reflects federalism and genuine multi-party democracy.

Makinde noted that his political group transitioned to APM due to the unavailability of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a viable platform for the upcoming elections. He called for the swift completion of the integration process, as formal campaigns are set to commence soon.
