APM Nominates Makinde and Daura for 2027 Elections

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has intensified its campaign for the 2027 presidential elections by pairing Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde with Alhaji Lawan Musa Daura, the former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), as his running mate. This announcement was made during the APM Elective National Convention held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Bauchi.

The party aims to leverage Makinde's governance experience and Daura's extensive security expertise to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The convention also confirmed Makinde as the party's presidential candidate and ratified Daura's selection, emphasizing the need for a strong security focus in the upcoming elections.

Additionally, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed was appointed as the National Leader of the APM, and Yusuf Mamman Dantalle was re-elected as National Chairman for another three years. The APM is positioning itself as a formidable opposition force ahead of the 2027 elections.
