Makinde Critiques Tinubu's Economic Policies Ahead of 2027

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), criticized the economic policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration under President Bola Tinubu. He described the simultaneous removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira as detrimental to Nigerians' welfare.

Makinde, represented by Babatunde Tijani, made these remarks during the unveiling of APM's deputy governorship candidate, Deborah Abosede Akinlade, in Abeokuta. He lamented that no nation could endure such economic shocks without adequate support measures.

Makinde expressed concern over the rising cost of living and erratic foreign exchange rates, questioning the administration's claims of economic stability. He also highlighted the current security situation, stating that Nigerians no longer feel safe.

The gathering aimed to mobilize support for the APM ahead of the 2027 elections, with Makinde urging party members to unite and work towards displacing the APC government.
