Seyi Makinde Set to Declare Presidential Bid on Thursday

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is anticipated to announce his presidential bid for the 2027 elections on Thursday during a rally at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, located in the South East Local Government Area of the state. The event, tagged "Unity Mega Rally," will also serve to unveil a political alliance between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the People's Movement (APM).

Alongside his presidential declaration, Makinde is expected to introduce other aspirants seeking various political positions, including Bimbo Adekanmbi for governorship and Shina Peller for the Senate. The rally is expected to attract political stakeholders and youth groups, with significant support anticipated for Makinde's leadership style and political vision.

Although he has not made an official public statement regarding his intent to contest, support groups and political associates are intensifying calls for him to join the race.
