Bala Mohammed Set to Defect from PDP to ADC

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State and the chairman of the PDP Governors' Forum, is preparing to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This decision comes amid persistent crises within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) at both national and state levels, where he has found no meaningful progress towards reconciliation.

Mohammed hinted at his plans during a closed-door meeting with ADC delegates, including former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal. The ADC's national chairman, David Mark, has also reached out to invite him to join the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Mohammed is described as a fearless political figure, and his entry into the ADC is expected to strengthen the party's chances in future elections. His official defection is anticipated to occur on Thursday.
