Bala Mohammed Leaves PDP for All Progressives Movement

Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Movement (APM) on Saturday. This decision follows consultations with key stakeholders and comes in the wake of a Supreme Court ruling that exacerbated internal disputes within the PDP, leading to a leadership crisis and a leadership vacuum.

Mohammed expressed gratitude for the role the PDP played in his political journey but indicated that the current situation within the party was unredeemable. He has initiated the transition process to APM, which includes setting up a compliance committee and engaging with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for membership registration.

Yusuf Mamman Dantal, the national chairman of APM, welcomed Mohammed, emphasizing the party's commitment to democratic principles and leadership that serves the people.
