Makinde Commits to Quality Education as Schools Resume

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde reiterated the state government's commitment to improving the education sector through strategic policies and programs aimed at enhancing learning outcomes in both public and private schools. This statement was made by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olusegun Olayiwola, in a welcome-back message to students as schools resumed for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, September 15, 2026.

Makinde described the new academic session as an opportunity for students to commit to learning and academic excellence. He urged students to remain focused and disciplined, while also adhering to school regulations.

The governor emphasized the importance of teachers maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and lesson planning. He also called on parents to actively engage in their children's education and for private school proprietors to comply with the academic calendar set by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, stressing that adherence to guidelines is crucial for maintaining educational standards.
