Makinde Commemorates Father's 14th Memorial Service

On Sunday, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde honored his late father, Pa Olatunbosun Makinde, during the 14th memorial service at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan.

He described his father as a trusted adviser whose honesty and wisdom continue to influence his life and leadership. Makinde expressed his deep sense of loss, stating that his father was not only a mentor but also a close friend who could always tell him the truth.

The Most Rev. Williams Aladekugbe, Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese, praised the late Makinde as a devoted Christian and community servant, encouraging others to emulate his life of faith and humility.

The bishop also congratulated Governor Makinde on the recent successful rescue of abducted teachers and pupils from Oriire Local Government Area and acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere in Oyo State under his administration. Following the service, Governor Makinde laid wreaths at the graves of his father and mother, Madam Abigail Makinde, who passed away on October 15, 2020.
