Wike Declares Makinde's Presidential Ambition Dead

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's presidential ambition is "dead on arrival." Wike made this remark during a press briefing in Abuja while inspecting a road project. He criticized the proposed alliance between the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the People's Movement (APM), labeling it a fraudulent arrangement.

Wike asserted that there is no formal agreement or memorandum of understanding between the two parties and that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has no record of such an alliance. He maintained that the PDP remains independent and will present its own presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Wike also referenced Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, noting that there have been no discussions regarding the PDP-APM alliance. He emphasized that Makinde's political maneuvering is ineffective and that the PDP will not support any coalition that does not align with its interests.
