Sheriff Oborevwori Faces Political Opposition but Drives Infrastructure Development in Delta State

Sheriff Oborevwori, the 2023 Delta State gubernatorial candidate, is facing opposition from influential figures within his party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), and rival party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite doubts about his vision and leadership capabilities, Oborevwori's tenure has been marked by a significant focus on infrastructure development.

Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, he has initiated over 300 road projects across Delta State, with plans to complete 600 roads and 25 bridges by mid-2025. Key achievements include the completion of the dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba road and the transformation of the Warri-Od-Itsekiri corridor.

Oborevwori has also signed a substantial N78 billion contract with Julius Berger for various road expansion projects, including flyovers and interchanges. His administration has prioritized flood control projects, urban renewal, and enhancing economic growth through improved transportation networks.
