Afenifere Critiques Tinubu's Government on Insecurity

Afenifere, a pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization, has criticized the government of President Bola Tinubu, alleging that it has exacerbated poverty, unemployment, and insecurity in Nigeria since he took office three years ago. The group, led by Oba Oladipo Olaitan and Princ Justic Faloy, stated that the current administration has failed to fulfill its primary purpose of ensuring the welfare and security of citizens, as outlined in Chapter Two, Section 14 of the Nigerian Constitution.

Afenifere lamented that instead of renewing hope, the administration has deepened insecurity and corruption, leading to economic stagnation. The organization highlighted the alarming rise in kidnappings and killings across several states, including Kwara and Oyo, and accused the government of failing to restructure the nation's security architecture.

They expressed concern that the situation has become a nightmare, with the administration's negligence contributing to a climate of fear and violence.
