Abdulaziz Malami Granted N200M Bail on Terror Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik, has granted Abdulaziz Malami, son of former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, bail set at N200 million. This decision follows charges against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) related to terrorism and illegal possession of firearms.

Abdulaziz is accused of possessing a Sturm Magnum 17 firearm and live ammunition without lawful authority, as well as allegedly abetting terrorism financing. The court ordered that he be remanded in Kuje Prison until the bail conditions are met, which include providing two sureties with property in Maitama or Asokoro, as well as submitting valid international passports and recent photographs.

The trial is scheduled to commence on March 4, 2026, with Abdulaziz facing five counts of charges linked to these serious allegations.
