Malami and Son Remanded in Kuje Prison Over Bail Conditions

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, and his son Abdulaziz have been ordered to remain in Kuje Prison while they fulfill bail conditions imposed by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court granted Abdulaziz a bail of N200 million concerning charges of terrorism and illegal possession of firearms, which were brought against him by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The bail conditions include providing two sureties who own property in Maitama or Asokoro, submitting valid international passports, and depositing affidavits and recent passport photographs. The trial is set to commence on March 4, with Abdulaziz facing five counts related to terrorism financing and illegal possession of firearms, including a Sturm Magnum 17 firearm and live ammunition.

The charges allege that he engaged in activities that abetted terrorism financing and possessed firearms without legal authorization in Kebbi State.
