APPMED Calls for Collective Action Against Malaria in Nigeria

The Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (APPMED) has reported that malaria is having a devastating effect on the majority of Nigerian families. During a public enlightenment campaign held in Lagos, APPMED President Reverend Kubiat Akpan stated that as frontline medicine dealers, they witness the daily toll malaria takes on families.
He described malaria as a significant public health challenge that necessitates intervention from all sectors of society. Akpan urged individuals, groups, and organizations to join the fight against malaria to minimize its prevalence.
He emphasized that the responsibility of combating malaria should not rest solely on the government, highlighting the critical role of patent medicine dealers in early detection, appropriate referrals, and public education. Akpan also noted that sustained awareness, youth engagement, and community-based actions are essential for success in the anti-malaria campaign.
APPMED has endorsed the Geneith Health Competition, a N1 billion youth-driven malaria awareness initiative organized by CEOAFRICA and sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Limited.
