Male Hawker Killed in Lagos Road Accident

A tragic road accident occurred in Okokomaiko, Lagos State, resulting in the death of an adult male roadside hawker. The incident involved a Lexus jeep with registration number SMK 674 HY.

Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs at LASTMA, confirmed that officials responded swiftly to a distress call, securing the accident scene and evacuating the deceased to the carriageway. The police officer attached to the Ketu division subsequently conveyed the body to Badagry mortuary for further necessary procedures.

In a separate incident, seven passengers were injured in a collision involving a Mazda commercial bus with registration number MU 231 YA and another Lexus jeep with registration number FJK 23 HL. LASTMA officials, alongside Ogudu police division officers, intervened promptly, and the Lagos State Ambulance Service efficiently evacuated the injured victims to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.

Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, urged motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and maintain safe speeds, especially during late-night hours.
