Police Arrest Zayyanu Halilu for Defiling 12-Year-Old Girl

Zayyanu Halilu was arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command after officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit caught him allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl inside a navy blue Volkswagen at the Airport Bridge Taxi Park on October 2. The police, conducting a routine patrol, noticed the vehicle shaking and found Halilu in the act when they approached.

Following the arrest, the girl was taken to safety, and early investigations indicated that the abuse might not have been an isolated incident, as Halilu had allegedly lured her to the same vehicle multiple times while threatening her against reporting. A medical examination revealed that the victim is approximately three months pregnant, and she is currently receiving medical care.

Halilu remains in custody pending further investigations and will be charged in court. CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi urged parents and guardians to be vigilant regarding their children's safety and to report suspicious activities.
