Visitor Arrested for Concealing Drugs at Ibadan Prison

On February 25, 2026, a male visitor was apprehended at the Ibadan Correctional Centre in Oyo State for concealing hard drugs while attempting to visit an inmate. The arrest occurred during a routine security check at the facility entrance, where the suspect was found to have hidden Colorado hemp inside a portion of cooked rice.

Anjorin, the public relations officer of the Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service. Following the arrest, the suspect was immediately handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and appropriate legal action.

The Nigerian Correctional Service, represented by Control Officer C. Olusegun Adekunmbi, commended the vigilance of the officers involved in ensuring the security and safety of the correctional facility.
